Yoshihara After graduating from the Department of Piano, Tokyo Gakugei University, I completed the master's course at the same graduate school.
-Have you ever attended an overseas class?

Yoshihara No, this is my first time.
-Please tell us what made you decide to participate in the Mozartium class this time.

Yoshihara Frank sensei took a master class when he came to Japan, and he was able to take a very wonderful lesson.
-How did you meet Frank Vibout sensei?

Yoshiwara I took the sensei master class in Kamakura.
-You said that you took a lesson once in Japan. Did you make any difference when you attended the class overseas?

Yoshiwara Salzburg was a wonderful environment of Mozartium blessed with nature, so I think I was able to take music more seriously than usual.

Mozartem College of Music
-How many people participated in this workshop?

Yoshihara There are not only pianos but also vocal music and other musical instruments, so the total number of people is thousands. The class I took was 15 people.
-I think there will be an audition on the first day of this class, but how many of the 15 people passed the audition?

It seems that all the Yoshiwara sensei classes have passed this year.
-How did the audition look like?

It was a form in which everyone gathered in front of Yoshiwara sensei's room, entered one by one from the called person, and played the song while being interviewed.
-How long was the audition?

Yoshihara Some people played two songs, but it's about 2 minutes per person.
-Do you play all the songs?

Yoshihara Yes. I was asked by sensei what to play, and I played that song to the end.
-Are you nervous?

Yoshihara That's right. However, since sensei welcomed me with a smile, I was able to relax more than I expected.
-What was your lesson schedule like after you passed the audition?

Yoshihara First, the lesson schedule was posted immediately after the audition was over.Since I was the first, I wasn't ready for my heart, and the lesson started immediately after the audition was over (laughs). This was Monday, with my assistant sensei lesson on Tuesday and another sensei lesson on Wednesday. At that time, I was asked if I would like to attend an academy concert. And for the academy concert, we had a special lesson on Friday.
-So, did you have three sensei lessons from the first week?It was a busy schedule.

Yoshihara That's right. In the first week, there were a total of four lessons, including one lesson for the assistant sensei (laughs). The next Monday was the Academy Concert, so sensei gave me a lesson that morning as well. And one day later, another Wednesday.
-Is there more sensei lessons for assistants depending on the level?

Yoshihara I think that's probably the case.
-What was the content of the lesson like?

What did Yoshiwara sensei bring today? So today, I was asked to see the songs I had prepared one by one.About one lesson is one hour per song. When I was a sonata, I divided it in half, and today I had one movement and two movements.
-How was the atmosphere of the lesson?

Yoshiwara sensei gives us a gentle and warm advice.Since sensei has a rich imagination, it feels like he has made many suggestions, saying, "There is also such a way to play."It was a form of incorporating the one that suits me from among them.

Mozarteum University of Music
-Have you ever been taught basic things such as how to play the piano?

Yoshihara Anyway, you mentioned "weakness".It means to use your body according to the music.I would like to try using this kind of body in order to produce a sound that matches the image of the sound.
-So that's it. What kind of person is sensei?

Yoshihara He is a gentle, warm and very kind person. With the sensei of the student's feelings, when the students appeared at the academy concert, they always came to listen and gave me advice.
-It was a wonderful sensei.Which country had more classes?

Yoshihara There are five Japanese people. Some of them were learning from sensei in London. Also, my assistant sensei was from Spain, so there were a lot of Spaniards.
-Did you listen to the lessons for Spanish people?

Yoshihara Yes, everyone was very enthusiastic and well prepared.
-Did listening to foreigners' performances inspire you?

Yoshihara: Yes, everyone has a wonderful personality, and that was conveyed as music, which was a great learning experience.
-In what language did you take the sensei lesson?

Yoshihara English.
-Where are you practicing during the period?

I reserved and used the practice room of Yoshiwara Mozartium.
-How many practice rooms do you have?

Yoshihara: I don't know the exact number, but there were practice rooms in the new school building, the old school building, and other places.
-There were quite a lot.So wasn't it impossible to make a reservation at all?

Yoshihara: It wasn't there, but it was always used by someone.
-How long did Yoshihara practice in a day?

Yoshihara I secured 4 hours.I adjusted it well and used it so that it did not overlap with the lesson time.
-You have secured the practice time. What did you do mainly during the non-lesson hours?

Yoshihara: It's mainly attendance.
-Did you listen to anything other than the piano?

Yoshihara No, unfortunately I couldn't do anything other than the piano. Most of my sensei lessons were attended. However, I was able to go to listen to the completion concerts of other sensei classes.I also went to listen to the academy concert for a few days.

Mozartium College of Music International Summer Academy
-What else did you do?

Yoshiwara I did a little sightseeing in the neighborhood.I went shopping in the old town, and because the Mirabell Garden was right behind the school, I had lunch and sat down on the bench to eat.Anyway, the environment was very good.
-How was your security?

Yoshihara I don't think it's bad.I never felt scared.
-Is it okay for the people in the city to speak in English?

Yoshihara Yes.It was okay to go to any store.I had almost no problems in my daily life.
-How was the local food?

Yoshihara It was basically delicious. Also, I could buy anything at the supermarket, and the Mac was convenient.
-Is it McDonald's?Is the taste different from that of Japan?

Yoshihara: The size was big.But I'm glad that I was able to eat it at a reasonable price. When I came back late for practice, the supermarket was sometimes closed, so it was convenient.
-I often hear from other people that the supermarket closes early, but how was it actually?

Yoshihara I don't know the details, but I think it was completely closed at XNUMX o'clock.
-It's different from Japan.Have you ever been surprised in your life?

Yoshihara: I wasn't particularly surprised.I was prepared to be late for the bus, but unexpectedly they came on time.
-Then, it may be a comfortable place for Japanese people to live in.

Yoshihara Yes, it was very comfortable for me.
-What was your accommodation?

Yoshihara I was staying in a dormitory.
-What was the atmosphere inside the dormitory?

There is also a Yoshiwara practice room, so I felt that the students who participated in the Mozartium were overflowing. There were many people from various countries and it was lively.
-Is the room a single room?

Yoshihara Yes, it was a single room, and the bath was properly in the room.To my surprise, there was a kitchen on the opposite side of the room across the corridor. It feels like a locker. When you open the locker, it feels like the refrigerator and stove come out.I think it's very convenient because I can cook at my favorite time without hesitation.

City of Salzburg
-It's convenient! So did you cook for yourself all the time?

Yoshihara Yes, a little ... (laughs).I'm pretty busy ...
-Did you go out to eat with other people?

Yoshihara Yes, all the students in the same class went out to eat with sensei.
-I think you had the opportunity to interact with people from other countries. Did you make friends with people other than Japanese?

Yoshihara: Well, I had the opportunity to talk.I talked in English with Spanish children in the same class.
-How was it when you got in touch with foreigners?

Yoshihara After all, we have gathered together for the same purpose, so we were able to get close to each other. However, I keenly realized that my English ability was insufficient.
-You felt the need for language skills.

Yoshihara Yes, I really felt it.let's study! It became an opportunity.
-Please do its best!Do you have any tips for communicating well with people from overseas?

Yoshihara: Don't be shy, do you talk to yourself?
-Did people from other countries talk to you more and more?

Yoshihara Yes.They were all warm people and talked to me well. But anyway, I can only speak a little English, so I couldn't return it well ...I think I wanted to talk more.
-Are there many young people in your age group?

Yoshihara That's right. After all there were many college students. The bottom is around 18 years old.
-Did you have any problems during the period?

Yoshihara: I didn't have anything in particular, but once I got a fever ... After the second week of the Academy Concert, I felt relieved and sick. That day was just the day of the class completion concert. But once I took the medicine I brought from Japan and went back to my room and lay down, it got better. After all, I was glad I had the medicine.
-I'm glad I didn't take care of you.

Yoshihara Yes.Being alone overseas makes me feel uneasy. It was a surprisingly hard two weeks (laughs).

Academy concert
-What was your impression of appearing at the Academy Concert?

Yoshiwara The concert venue was a hall called "Viena Saar" in the old Mozartium school building. This is a very nice hall with white as the keynote and decorated with gold, which is like a European palace, and I was very impressed. And everyone was really good and it was a great learning experience.
-How many people will be selected from the class?

Yoshihara It's completely different depending on the class.About 5 people were elected to my class. Is the total number of performers at the academy concert about 20 on the piano alone? The concert was held several times. For example, on the first day, how many pianos and how many violins were programmed. The day I appeared was just a piano day.
-What did you feel when you listened to other people's performances?

Yoshihara: After all, I felt that everyone was preparing properly.Everyone was very enthusiastic and they chose the sensei that suits them.
-After all, compatibility with sensei is important.

Yoshihara Yes. For two weeks, the main lesson will be with sensei, so I think compatibility is really important.
- Yoshihara, I'm glad I met a good sensei.Do you have any wishes to study under Vibout sensei in the future?

Yoshihara That's right.I would also like to take a master class of sensei in Japan.I also hope to participate in Mozartium.
-What do you think has changed the most when you participated for the first time this time?

Yoshihara First of all, in Japan, I'm the type who doesn't talk to strangers very actively, but I've come to talk to various people. After all, there are many things I don't understand, so I have to be positive naturally.
-It's not just about music, it's about humanity.

Yoshihara After all, nothing progresses even if I keep silent, so I felt like I had to move anyway.
-So that's it.How about music?

Yoshihara: It's a big thing that the direction of the music you're aiming for has been decided. Also, listening to the songs played by other students, I wanted to make this song a repertoire, and I thought it would be a good way to play, so I set a new goal.

City of Salzburg
-If you have any suggestions or suggestions that you should prepare for those who wish to take lessons overseas in the future, please.

Yoshihara First of all, it is better to study the language well. After that, it is necessary to collect as much information as possible about sensei that you want to get in advance. If you don't like the music, you'll be in trouble, so if you went to the previous year, you should listen to that person and collect information. If you can find out what kind of song you should have, you can take lessons with confidence.
-Then, in terms of life, you should bring this with you! What are the recommended goods?

Yoshihara After all it is a medicine. Also, it is convenient to have retort pouch foods and processed foods that are easy to eat.For the time being, I brought it from Japan to some extent, just in case.I was relieved when I was sick and couldn't go out, or when I had a retort pouch. Also, I think it's convenient when the supermarket closes early and you can't buy anything.
-Are there any shops around?

There was a supermarket near the Yoshiwara dormitory, and there was a bakery near the school. Also, there is a school cafeteria in the school, so I didn't have any trouble eating it.
-Lastly, please tell us about your goals for your future music activities.

Yoshihara After all, I think it would be great if we could increase the repertoire a lot and hold concerts.Actually, I'm going to do a recital next year.I'm thinking of creating a program and playing around the songs that you taught me this time.I hope that this experience can be put to good use in teaching students.
-It's nice!I wish you all the best.Thank you very much today!
