Born in Belgium, Jean-Luc Votano began his clarinet lessons at the age of four, under the guidance of his father Giovanni Votano. Since taking the first stage at the age of 4, he has begun to pursue a career as a concert artist.After studying at the Versailles Conservatory of Music and the Royal Conservatory of Mons, he made his debut as the chief of the Royal Philharmonique Orchestra of Lieges at the age of 7.He was nominated for "Octave de la Musique" when he was selected as the "20 Best Young Soloist" sponsored by the Belgian public radio station.Since then, I have swept many international competitions. Starting with a performance at the Lincoln Center in NY, he has been invited to the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in Tokyo to premiere Magnus Lindberg's Clarinet Concerto in Japan.With a wide repertoire from classical to contemporary music, he is familiar with chamber music as well as concertos.
