Professor Volker Altmann studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with the horn virtuoso Gottfried von Freiberg, who inherits the traditional Viennese style. He became a member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in 1966 and has now established himself as a veteran horn player.Of course, he is active worldwide in the performance of the Vienna Philharmonic, but he has also participated in five chamber orchestras by members of the Vienna Philharmonic, including the Vienna Philharmonic Zoristen, and has produced more than 5 CDs so far. Released.Also, don't forget his reputation as a leader. He has been teaching at the prestigious Vienna Municipal Conservatory since 20, and at the same time teaching at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna for four years from 1982.He has been frequently invited as a visiting professor to the International Mozart Academy, founded by the famous conductor Sándor Végh, and has been teaching at the Austrian Gratz Conservatory since 1988.He also serves as a judge in five international competitions, including the Karajan Foundation's International Youth Orchestra Competition (commonly known as the Karajan Competition).
