Adalbert Scotich is an Austrian cellist from Mannheim, Germany.From an early age, he learned music from his father, a conductor and composer.At the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, he studied under Richard Krotschak and received a special award diploma.He also learned from Enrico Mainardi and Andre Navarra, and acquired further musicality. After winning a prize at the Geneva International Competition in 1961, he became a cellist at the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic from 1963.He left Oke about 10 years later to concentrate on solo and chamber music activities and teaching at the Vienna Municipal Conservatory (now the Vienna Private University of Music and Arts).He established the Vienna Chamber Ensemble with the Vienna Philharmonic concertmaster Gerhart Hetzel and performed at music festivals around the world, including Vienna, Salzburg and Helsinki.He has also performed solo and chamber music tours around the world, including Europe, North America, Japan and Australia.He has released about 30 CDs, and has collaborated with famous pianists such as Elisabeth Leonskaya, Jörg Demus, and James Levine, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra.So far, he has taught cello and chamber music master classes in Europe and Japan.In addition, sensei is invited by the judges of leading competitions such as Gaspar Cassado International, Budapest International (Daivit Popper Cello Competition), and Marc Neukirchen International to help him become a professional.
