Professor Stephan Kotnik, who continues to inspire contemporary composers, teaches Kura full of excitement and charm.
Stephan Koutnik is the most educated clarinetist in the Czech Republic, a music powerhouse.He studied under Professor Milan Kostlitz at the Prague Conservatory and honed his skills at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague about Professor Milan Etreak.Both professors are not known in Japan, but they are the highest performers in the Czech Republic.He also studied in Germany and learned from Ewald Koch, a well-known clarinet textbook.He has achieved excellent results in international-level competitions such as the high-level Czech national competition, the Marc Neukirchen International Competition and the Prague Spring International Music Competition. Welcomed by the symphony orchestra as the chief solo player.He is now also the leader of the clarinet section, playing an important role in the orchestra.He is also active in solo and chamber music as well.In particular, it can be said that his unique feature is that he often collaborates with contemporary Czech composers.Many clarinet songs were inspired by Stephan's play, and Czech's most popular composer Zdenek Lukash has even dedicated a concerto to him. Since 1990, he has been teaching at his alma mater, the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, and occasionally at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris and the prestigious Guild Hall Conservatory in the United Kingdom.
