I studied with the regular members of the Berlin Philharmoniker. In particular, he learned the essence of the Berlin Philharmoniker cello from Jörg Baumann and Georg Faust, who were the chief soloists at the time.Another characteristic of him is his strong interest in chamber music. He studied under the historic British Amadeus Quartet and members of the Alban Berg Quartett, one of the finest ensembles of our time, and is currently participating in ensembles formed by members of the Berlin Philharmoniker. The focus of Michael's lessons is to show students what sounds are rooted in traditional European culture and to give them clues to discover unique styles that vary from time to time.
