Playing around the world as a bandleader, he gained the strength of jazz with John Gordon, who has also taught at a famous music institute and music college in New York.
John Gordon, who has won many contests as a brass band saxophone player since high school, learned jazz saxophone about contemporary jazz mogul Phil Woods.After that, while continuing to study at the Manhattan Conservatory, he gigged with big names such as Charlie Parker Quartet trumpet player Red Rodney, swing era trumpeter Roy Eldridge, and modern jazz guitar giant Barney Kessel. I piled up and brushed my arms. In 1996, his outstanding ability was recognized and he won the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition.Even after becoming a professional, he has performed with top musicians such as Grammy award-winning artist Maria Schneider, veteran saxophonist Benny Carter, and trumpeter Clark Terry who influenced Miles Davis.Currently, he leads his own band and is active mainly in the United States and Europe, and is also active in a band with popular bassist Ron Carter and trombone master Slide Hampton.He has taught at the Manhattan Conservatory, the Manes Conservatory and the State University of New York Purchase Conservatory, using his own instructional books and Charlie Parker's ad-lib score.Currently teaching at The New School and City University of New York, he also teaches admissions to various colleges and conservatories.
