Stephen Whipple Jazz bass player / contrabass lesson

City: ニ ュ ー ヨ ー ク

Is it okay to use my usual practice method?Let's learn how to do scales from the eyes!

If I practice every day and don't feel like I'm getting better, maybe there is a mistake in the practice method. If you know how to communicate directly with a professional, you can meet a new self.
Steve Whipple is a bassist born in Tokyo. After spending time at an international school until the middle of high school, he went to the United States.Graduated from the Jazz Department of the Faculty of Music, Cincinnati University.Currently based in New York, he competes with top artists in various genres such as ragtime, modern jazz, avant-garde, Brazilian, Latin, pit oke, and collaboration with dancers. While always performing actively on the front lines, he also devotes himself to training young people.Mainly private lessons, but every year at the Blu-ray Fine Arts Camp, he teaches bass, theory, improvisation, big bands and more. The experience of seriously facing the bass since I was a student, the stimulus and inspiration I got from interacting with other top-notch artists in my daily performance activities, and the education I cultivated by teaching at the university and instructing seminars. He summarizes his perspective as a person and all of himself in the lesson content, and teaches the practice methods that Whipple himself came up with during his many years of career. No matter how long you practice an instrument every day, if you practice it incorrectly, you will not improve at all.Getting advice on how to practice can be a big breakthrough, especially for those who are feeling their limits or struggling to improve.Whipple is also fluent in Japanese, so even those who are worried about their language can feel free to join us.
