The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is the predecessor of the Glasgow Education Society, founded in 1847, and boasts a long history and tradition.The school has a theater department in addition to the music department, and it is a very suitable environment for learning comprehensive performing arts including musicals.Also, there is a course to learn traditional Scottish music, which is unique to the school.Even in the classical field, due consideration has been given to gaining experience in playing in a wide range of formats, from solos to chamber music to large ensembles.One of the features is that 90 minutes of private lessons are secured for 30 weeks a year, with practical instruction by the highest level teachers in the UK.There are three opera performances and orchestra performances a year, and it is a program that anyone can learn firmly regardless of field or major.Undergraduate courses offer BMus degree courses in instrumental music, vocal music, composition, jazz, creative & contextual studies.There are also BA degree courses in Scottish Music, Musical Theater, Technical & Production Arts and BEd degree courses in Music Education.In the graduate program, we offer MMus degree courses in instrumental music, vocal music, opera, composition, conducting, and jazz.You can also get a diploma or a certificate of completion.There are also MOpera degrees in opera and MA degree courses in musical theaters.We also offer research programs such as PhD and MPhil.
