Founded in 1918, Ball State University is a comprehensive state university located in Muncie, Indiana.The Faculty of Music is actively embracing innovative curriculums and new musical activities.The program is extensive and the innovative educational policy is known to be a leader in American music education.Currently, there are about 500 students enrolled in both university and graduate school.We welcome students from all over the United States and from 16 countries around the world.There are more than 70 instructors, mainly composed of famous musicians and scholars.With a small class system of 9 to 10 students and 1 instructor, you can receive detailed classes and technical guidance.Major college courses offer BM degree courses in performance, music education, music theory & composition, and music media production.Miners have classes in music history, church music, jazz studies, and more, with a wide selection.The graduate course offers MM degrees in performance, composition, conducting, music education, music history & musicology, and music theory. There is also an MM major and an MA degree course to study music in general. The DA degree course trains musicians with comprehensive talents as excellent researchers, educators, and performers.In addition, students who are particularly good at playing can also obtain a graduate-level artist diploma.
Ensembles include large and small groups such as orchestras, marching bands, jazz, choruses and operas.Students other than the Faculty of Music are also participating, so you will always be inspired and your friendships will expand.All pianos in the faculty are made by Steinway & Sons.We have also partnered with Conn-Selmer for a long time to provide the highest standards of musical instruments for our students.
