■ General school information ■

Founded in 1867 by composer and violinist Julius Eichberg, the Boston Conservatory has accepted African-American and female students since its opening, and in the 20th century American music education. It is known for its innovative and student-centered school spirit, including the establishment of the opera department for the first time in an institution. The school is divided into three major fields, not only the Conservatory but also the Faculty of Dance and the Faculty of Musical. Based on the idea that "dance and musicals would not be possible without music," the music department is centered around the music department, so students in the music department are blessed with the opportunity to perform on any stage. ..In fact, at the Conservatory, students and teachers energetically perform a wide range of performances such as opera, musicals and dance, as well as more than 3 graduate orchestras and chamber music annually.Students will be able to take advantage of the opportunities to perform on these stages and gain experience as they fly into the music industry after graduation. In addition, the faculty offers a wide variety of courses, such as brass, harp, piano, guitar, and other musical instrument performance programs, as well as BM and MM degrees in fields such as music education and composition. It is attractive that special qualification acquisition courses are also offered. There are 200 teachers who are also active members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops Orchestra, compared to the current total of 220 students.Since minority classes or tutoring is the mainstream, students can learn playing skills from experienced and talented teachers. There is also an ESL program (English course for 114 weeks in August) to support international students and prepare for admission.
