Carnegie Mellon University, which was founded in 1900 by the steel king Andrew Carnegie, is one of the most prestigious universities in the United States, along with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the California Institute of Technology.In the arts field, we have produced 45 Emmy Award winners, 4 Academy Award winners, and 16 Tony Award winners.The School of Arts is well-known for its wide range of majors in music, performing arts, art, architecture and design, befitting the arts department of a prestigious university.The Faculty of Music covers all genres, including classical music and contemporary music that makes full use of the latest computer technology.The field of Dalcroze Training (Rhythmic Solfege) is known worldwide and all students can experience improvisation while in school.In the university course, you can obtain a BFA degree for instrumental music, keyboard instruments, vocal performance, and composition, and a BS degree for music technology, and a BXA degree for music, music / cultural studies, music technology, and recording technology.In the graduate course, you can obtain an MM degree in instrumental music, keyboard instruments, vocal performance, composition, music education, and an MS degree in music technology.In addition, we have a one-plus program for international students who are not good at English but who are excellent in music.For both bachelor's and master's degrees, one year to strengthen language skills is permitted as a reserve in the first year.This one year is a nice program that not only English but also studio lessons and ensemble activities are possible.The main campus is located in the educational district near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is an environment where you can study freely. There are 1 performance venues, 1 rehearsal halls, as well as a recording studio, electronic music studio and webcasting studio.We provide a good balance between prestigious education and modern essence, such as live broadcasting of student performances online.
