City College of New York celebrated its 2007th anniversary in 100 after relocating its campus to the Harlem district of Manhattan.The Faculty of Music is located in the historic building Shepherd Hall. It was completely renovated in 1993 and reborn as a more fulfilling music education facility.Today, we offer unique and modern programs as well as traditional music courses.For university courses, we offer BA and BFA bachelor degrees. BA majors in music research, BFA majors in instrumental music (classical, jazz), vocal music (classical, jazz), and acoustic technology (sonic art).Sound technology students can take advantage of the latest facilities to learn about sound, digital sound, video (film and video) audio, music production, recording technology, and more with real equipment.Therefore, this course has a large number of applicants every year and the number of students is limited.The graduate course also offers MA degree courses in classical composition, musicology (music history, theory), and performance (classical piano, jazz instrumental music).
The school's new facility includes four production studios, an acoustic lab, a sonic art center that includes a control room / classroom, an isolation room, two halls, a practice room, and a piano lab.In addition, the music library holds more than 4 recordings, 2 sheet music, and 18,000 music-related books.These genres vary and have a wide collection of not only Western music, but also jazz, folk, pops and folk music from around the world.There are many international students from overseas, so we take good care of them.
