Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, Butler University's Jordan School of Arts and Music was founded in 1855.Since then, it has been proud of its music education tradition for over 100 years and has been highly acclaimed in the United States.We provide music education in a wide range of fields and provide training to develop well-educated professional musicians. In the university course, we offer BA degree in music research, performance (orchestra instrumental music, piano, vocal music), music education, piano teaching method, BM degree in composition, BS degree in art administration.There are four-year and five-year music education courses, and you can qualify as a public school teacher upon graduation.Minor programs such as jazz research and cinema production are also attractive.In the graduate course, we offer MM degree courses in conducting (instrumental music, chorus), composition, music education, music history, performance, music theory, and piano education.You can also study the second major in addition to the first major and get a double major. A wide variety of choices are also reflected in the ensemble.Many groups and bands such as jazz, marching band, chorus, orchestra, percussion & steelpan belong to the campus.Students are active in music groups that interest them and have a fulfilling life as a music student.The school also boasts the latest facilities.MLF, a facility equipped with multimedia technology, can compose and edit MIDI, edit and record digital audio and multitrack, and input video.
