Pacific University is a private university located in Stockton, California.Founded in 1851 with the help of Christian United Methodists, the Conservatory was founded in 1878.The university offers a diverse curriculum not only in general education fields such as the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, but also in specialized fields such as music, education, and engineering.The total number of students is about 7,000, which is small compared to other large state universities, and the number of conservatory is about 220.Approximately 50 instructors are enrolled and have a reputation for high-level education conducted in small groups.In the university course of the Conservatory, we offer BA degree in music research, jazz research, music management, composition, music education, music history, music management, performance (classic, jazz), BM degree in music therapy.The graduate program offers MM degree courses in music education and music therapy.
Dave Lübeck, a famous pianist who gave birth to standard jazz numbers such as "Take Five," is from the same school.West Coast jazz, which dominated the era, was born from here.On campus is the Lübeck Institute, which stores valuable materials and records donated by him.It is a place for music research that transcends genres such as jazz, world music, and contemporary music.Other facilities include a concert hall, rehearsal hall, practice room, recording studio, etc., and in 2006, a state-of-the-art music technology laboratory was introduced.Making full use of these facilities, student music groups such as jazz, chamber music ensembles, symphony orchestras, opera theaters, and choirs are performing.Happy couples are blessed throughout the year at the on-campus chapel, where anyone of any denomination can have a wedding.
