Northwestern University is a prestigious private university located in the northern part of Chicago, Illinois, the city of music. Founded in 1895, the Faculty of Music is known as a prestigious music school offering music education at the Conservatory level.It also has a history in the United States as one of the oldest bachelor's degree music colleges.The school's goal is to train the next generation of musicians, scholars and educators.Currently, there are about 125 instructors, including members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.On the other hand, there are about 620 students enrolled, so students can study their specialty in a small class.The school offers a wide variety of courses such as instrumental music performance, vocal / opera, jazz research, music theory, musicology, and music science research.There are various degrees that can be obtained, such as BA, BM, MM, DM, and PhD.In the university course, you can acquire a double major (practical skill + 1 major) in the music school, such as instrumental music performance and composition, in 4 years.Furthermore, as an advantage of the university, we also offer a program that allows you to acquire a double major in the fields of music + academic (engineering, general education, journalism) in 5 years.Also, in the master's course, you can major in music school (practical skill + 1 major) or double major in musicology + music library science.In the future, it will be attractive not only to professional music and artists, but also to students who aim to become music critics and music engineers.
The on-campus music library boasts a collection of over 30 books.It is also famous for storing scores and records mainly produced after 1945 and many special collections.The school also has nearly 20 ensembles, bands and choirs of students, and holds more than 400 concerts a year.We are refining each other's musical skills and sensibilities.
