Princeton University, located in Princeton, New Jersey, was founded in 1746 as the fourth university in the United States. It is also known as a prestigious private university and one of the venerable Ivy League schools. The Faculty of Music boasts a different kind of music education than the Conservatory.Emphasis is placed on building solid basic knowledge while learning about the past and present of music. We are also committed to offering a wide range of lessons so that our students are passionate about their areas of expertise. It is our belief to develop professionals who can make any style their own, from traditional fields to electronic media. This is clear from recent graduates such as Robert Taub and Stanley Jordan. The enthusiastic teachers are centered around renowned orchestra members from New York and Philadelphia.
We offer AB degree courses for university courses and Ph.D. degree courses for graduate courses. There is also a program specializing in performances, and you can get a certificate of completion. After that, many students go on to music schools such as Juilliard, Eastman, and New England. We also offer a five-year double degree program that allows you to earn an AB degree from the school and an MM degree from the Royal College of Music.Outstanding students can attend the audition at the end of the second year and are allowed to study abroad from the fall of the third year.
Students are active in opera, orchestra, rock, pop, gospel, musicals and other musical activities on campus, and concerts are held regularly.Invited to rehearsals of well-known music institutions such as the Metropolitan Opera and the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, it is also attractive to be able to experience the scene where music is born up close.
