The National Academy of Music was founded in Lyon, a city of gastronomy and art.France's premier music education institution alongside the Paris National Conservatory of Music.

The National High Conservatory of Music Lyon was founded in 1980, which is relatively new to French institutions of higher education.The exterior remains the same as the historic building built in the 16th century, but the interior was renovated in 1988, with 110 lesson / practice studios, 5 studios for multi-acoustic composer / ecriture, and a large audience of 280. It has a hall, an orchestra practice hall, a pipe organ hall with 120 seats, a chorus hall, a library with more than 9 books, a restaurant, a student dormitory, a courtyard and a park.We have a privileged environment for learning art.The educational curriculum consists of basic compulsory subjects and elective subjects.You will learn basic majors in practical skills such as musical instruments, vocal music, composition, and orchestra, as well as ensemble with chamber music and orchestra, accompaniment, first-time performance, music history, harmony, music analysis, and other specialized knowledge.Don't miss the lecture about the music industry as a profession to be involved in the future.In seminars and master classes, it is possible to acquire further specialized skills.The credits earned can be exchanged for credits from the National Conservatory of Music in Paris.In addition, as an educational project to strengthen individual talents, about 350 concerts and public events are held annually by students.You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with well-known internationally active guest musicians.There are about 600 students in the Faculty of Music and about 100 students in the Faculty of Dance.Classes are conducted in French, but there are many international students and exchange students, and we are fully prepared to accept them, so you can study with peace of mind.A school building on a hill overlooking the town of Lyon, on the north side of Vieux Lyon (Old Town of Lyon), a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Learning in the historic cityscape will be an irreplaceable time in terms of deepening your knowledge of art and culture.
