The Toulouse Conservatory of Music was founded in 1820 by its predecessor, and in 1840 it became a branch of the current Paris National Conservatory of Music.The school, which was located on La Lei Road in Toulouse for more than 1866 years from 120, moved to La Lei Road in 1993. In 1998, the Basilica Basilica, which dates back to the 5th century, was internally renovated while retaining the exterior and archaeological value of the building, and a performance hall with a capacity of 402 seats was completed.The current school building is a complete renovation of the Army Hospital, built in 1896, into a new art space. It has 56 lesson rooms, 19 individual practice rooms, a chamber music hall, a chorus-only amphitheater, a presentation room, an audiovisual room, an electronic audiovisual room, an orchestra stage, a pipe organ room, and a recording studio.This privileged environment, with its beautiful historic facilities and modern facilities, will inspire students' artistic flair.
The majors in performance skills include keyboard instruments, string instruments, percussion instruments, wind instruments, vocal music, jazz instrumental music, and conducting (chorus, orchestra).A wide variety of ancient musical instruments that can be majored by young students and even instructor-level students is a valuable course unique to the school.Compulsory or elective courses include chorus, piano accompaniment, orchestra, chamber music, composition, music history, ecriture, and music analysis.
The content of the educational program is the first and second courses, and you will learn the basics of music step by step.From the third course, you will comprehensively study music through practical skills, lecture subjects such as ecriture and music analysis, and ensembles.You can obtain a certificate of completion (CFEM: Music Research Qualification) and a graduation diploma (DEM: Music Research Qualification).Many concerts by students such as symphonies, theatrical performances, and big bands are held every month, and many demonstration venues are provided.
