The city of Saint-Denis is an industrially developed city in the northern suburbs of Paris, France. The city is known worldwide for the Basilica of Saint Denis, the royal tomb of the French royal family.Since ancient times, this is a unique city with an exotic cultural identity, with many immigrants of African, Arab, and Indian descent. The Saint-Denis Conservatory of Music was founded in 1987 in collaboration with the French Ministry of Culture and local governments, which strive to promote education and culture.Since then, we have been actively engaged in activities to deepen cultural exchange from an international perspective.Currently, there are about 630 students enrolled in the school. We offer an educational program consisting of an infant course and three courses.Performance majors include voice, recorder, flute, oboe, clarinet, sax, trumpet, trombone, piano, violin, viola, cello, contrabass, celtic harp, guitar and percussion. In the jazz atelier activities, you can learn electric (guitar, bass, keyboard), wind instruments, and drums. As a group study, you can participate in jazz, chamber music, orchestra, chorus, and various ensembles. In addition, music such as Klezmer, Celtic, Cuban, and African is popular as a class unique to San Doni, where cross-cultural exchange is active.
The San Doni Music Festival, whose slogan is "The Bridge between the World's Best Artists and Citizens," is also attractive.Held every May-June, we invite John Eliot Gardiner, Riccardo Muti, Craig Armstrong and more. Music concerts of various genres such as jazz, rock, Irish folk, and gospel are held for a fee of about 5 to 6 euros.Students will be happy that it is free. This music festival is broadcast by radio and television stations and has established itself as one of France's leading music festivals.
