Vienna is known as the "City of Music" around the world, but it is also an artistic city where not only music but also all kinds of rich history and culture come and go. The main campus, which houses the main facilities of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, is located in the most artistically dense area of ​​Vienna. It is surrounded by the Vienna Philharmonic, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Vienna State Opera, the Burgtheater, and more. The attraction is that you can always be exposed to professional music and get cooperation. The school offers one of the best training programs in the world. It strives to improve the artistic ability and musical technique of each student and to cultivate musicians who have a good balance between Viennese tradition and innovative artistic styles. Currently, there are about 850 students enrolled, including young instrumentalists, singers, dancers, and actors who aim to become professionals. 40% of them are international students from over 50 countries. In addition, there are about 250 instructors, made up of talented musicians who have been carefully selected as educators. Famous musicians on the faculty include Georg Marc (conductor), Roland Batik (piano), Johannes Klopfisch (piano), Florian Zwier (violin), Julian Rachlin (violin), Rudolf Gindlhumer (flute), and Michael Werba (bassoon). The appeal is that students can learn directly from top-level musicians such as those from the Vienna Philharmonic and Vienna Symphony Orchestra. There are many instructors compared to the number of students, allowing for detailed education. In the music department, students can major in composition, conducting, accompaniment, vocal music, string instruments, wind instruments, percussion, keyboard instruments, as well as jazz (instrumental, vocal, composition & arrangement), early instruments, and musicals. There is also a music education course for elementary school teachers. There are also plenty of opportunities for practical experience, and the musical groups that students participate in hold over 500 performances each year. The school is known for being invited to perform at music and art events around the world.
