Rostock College of Music is a new university officially founded in 1994.However, it has a long history, and its predecessor is the School of Music, Drama and Dance, which was founded by the composer Rudolf Wagner-Regenny in 1947. From 1978 to 1990, it was a branch of the Hans Eisler College of Music in Berlin, but in 1994 it merged with the theater department of Rostock University.It became the University for Music and Theater Rostock (University for Music and Theater Rostock). The new school building completed in 2001 is a beautiful renovated Catalina monastery.Outdoor events are also possible in the courtyard, with a large opera & concert hall, chamber music hall, pipe organ hall, two theaters, and a library.The blessed environment for learning music will be attractive.Currently, about 2 students from 42 countries are enrolled. I am receiving music education centered on "practical", "cooperativeness" and "future potential".The school is attracting attention as one of the most popular educational institutions in Europe.The Faculty of Music has a reputation for a detailed and lean curriculum that emphasizes instrumental music, vocal music, and music education.
In the bachelor's degree, there are majors in orchestra instrument music, keyboard instruments, piano chamber music, voice music, conducting, composition (including electronic and PC music production), classical guitar, harp, pop, world music, percussion, and music theory.The master's program includes vocal music, chamber music, piano, guitar, composition, coaching, music theory, orchestra, conducting, and music education.The music teacher training course provides the necessary departments as a school teacher.In addition, with the cooperation of the Rostock Northern Germany Philharmonic Orchestra and the Rostock Theater, training is conducted to gain experience in the actual field.More than 300 concerts and events held annually on and off campus are also training venues to hone your skills.
The school holds a master class every August. In 8, Clergy Kelly (vocal), Klaus Hager (vocal), Helmut Lilling (Bach song), Latika Honda-Rosenberg (violin), Heinrich Schiff (cello), Petr Iuga (contrabass) , Shirley Brill (clarinet), Filippo Faes (chamber music) will be the instructors.
