Saar Conservatory of Music was founded in 1947 in Saarbrücken, Germany.It has been internationally recognized as the most important music and cultural institution for over 60 years in the surrounding areas such as Saarland, Lorraine, Luxembourg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Walloon.The campus of Saarbrücken has a beautiful cityscape and an artistic atmosphere, strongly influenced by the neighboring France.It is the best environment to stimulate the sensitivity of young students.It is also located in the city's most cultural center, halfway between the Museum of Modern Art and the State Theater.Currently, the school has more than 400 talented students and about 120 instructors who are also well-known artists.Music education offers a wide variety of programs, from classical to jazz and popular.We are proud of our high quality training centered on individual instruction by our internationally acclaimed instructors. From 2009, the traditional diploma system has been significantly reduced to allow bachelor's and master's degrees.The university-level basic course offers a bachelor's degree program in a wide variety of specialties such as vocal music, instrumental music, church music, music education, composition, and jazz.In the graduate course, you can obtain master's and professional qualifications in vocal music (opera, solo), instrumental music (solo, orchestra), conducting (orchestra, chorus), composition, contemporary, chamber music, jazz & pops, etc.
The school has a revolutionary spirit, and the jazz and pop department is active in the media room equipped with the latest digital sound system and sound technology on campus.Student soloists, ensembles and orchestras have also performed at home and abroad, making them an integral part of music events in Saarland.We also have traditional partnerships with regional partners such as Saarland Broadcasting, German Radio Philharmonic, Network Music Saar and Saarland State Theatre.
