The University of British Columbia was founded in 1908.Currently, about 50,000 students are enrolled.Of these, 6,400 are international students from all over the world.Many international students from Japan are also studying here. In the university course, we offer a BMus degree acquisition course in performance (instrumental music, vocal music) and composition. Double major with BA or BSc degree is possible.A BA degree in Music (Musicology, Music Theory, Folk Music, Music Education, Broadcasting & Journalism, Music Therapy, Music Business, etc.) + Liberal Arts can be obtained at the Faculty of Arts.In the graduate course, we offer MA degree in music theory, historical musicology, folk musicology, and MMus degree in performance (instrumental music, vocal music, opera), composition, and choral conducting.In addition, you can earn a DMA degree in performance (instrumental music, vocal music) and composition, and a PhD degree in music theory, historical musicology, and folk musicology.In addition, a diploma course is available for performance and collaborative piano.It's a narrow gate for talented students, but it's definitely a plus for your music career as you get more professional training.
