The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto was founded in 1886.Known as Canada's oldest and largest independent arts education institution.No different from its name, it has provided excellent art education for about 125 years and has sent many leading artists to the world.Graduates include John Beckwith, David Foster, Glenn Gould, Angela Hewitt, Jon Vickers and many other world-class musicians.Currently, more than 6,000 students, from children to adults, are enrolled.The instructors are scholars, educators, award-winning musicians, and more than 250 talented professionals, expanding the possibilities of students.
The program consists of three courses: children / youth, adults, and professional training.For children / youth, you can comprehensively learn from performance to theory & history, Suzuki method and ensemble.There is also an advanced children's program called the Royal Diploma Program, which is divided into 3 levels according to age.In the adult course, you can learn techniques and knowledge not only in performance, theory & history, but also in ensembles and master classes.Kids / Youth and Adult courses also include jazz, rock and festival classes.Professional training courses focus on training to become a music instructor or educator.We have abundant training classes for Suzuki method and Orff education.Also, if you already have a bachelor's degree, a special joint program with Ryerson University, an advanced certificate course in early childhood music education, will be attractive.
