Founded in 1878, Western Ontario University is located in London, Ontario.Canada's leading research university and known as an excellent educational institution.Currently, there are 3,200 full-time faculty and staff, and more than 32,000 students.About 1,600 of them are international students from 60 countries around the world.And we offer over 3 programs and over 12 courses in 200 colleges and 2,000 faculties & schools.
The Faculty of Music Don Wright has its origins in the London Conservatory, which was founded in 1903.Since then, it has undergone numerous changes and became the Faculty of Music in 1968.Nowadays, it boasts one of the best music education in Canada and is known to own the best music library on the North American continent.There are more than 100 faculty members, including performers, educators, composers, and scholars.The distance between them and the students is close, and good communication encourages the students to grow further.
In the university course, majors centered on theory and history, management (music management research), BA degree in popular music, performance (instrumental music, voice music), music theory & composition, music history, BMus degree in music education, ensemble We offer BMus A degree acquisition courses in ensemble.Honors degrees are available for some courses.Qualification courses such as performance diplomas, artist diplomas, and certificates of completion of piano technology are also attractive.In the graduate course, we offer MA degree in music theory, musicology, popular music & culture, MMus degree in music culture & performance (instrumental music, voice music, collaborative piano, theater, conducting), composition, music education.In addition, you can earn a PhD degree in musicology, music theory, music education (philosophy, psychology), and composition.
The school produces over 300 events each year.You can participate in and gain experience in musical activities such as orchestras, brass bands, choirs, operas, and musicals.In 2009, the facility was renovated.We plan to continue to build music facilities in the future, so those who wish to enroll in the school will be able to study in a more favorable environment.
