Brunel University is located in Uxbridge, a suburb of London.The school originated in a technical school founded in 1910 and was accredited as a bachelor's degree awarding technical university in 1966.Since then, it has been well known both in the UK and abroad for its continued offering of quality programs to enrich people's lives.Among them, the Faculty of Music belongs to the School of Arts.While cherishing old music, he focuses on music from the 20th and 21st centuries and teaches talented students.We are training modern musicians who can flexibly respond to the trends of the times.In the university course, we offer BMus, Sonic Arts in composition, contemporary & performance, and BA degree in music research.The composition major is style-agnostic, focusing on solo composition, orchestra composition, conducting, harmony & counterpoint, and has computer music, stage music, and improvisational options.The Contemporary & Performance Major will hone your playing skills based on your musical knowledge, with a focus on solo repertoire, chamber music and ensembles.As an option, you can learn improvisation, conducting, popular music, and live electronics that cover everything from baroque to jazz and avant-garde.At Sonic Arts, you'll learn the skills and knowledge to become a sonic artist, as well as a composer of electronic and computer music, and an expert in interactive technology.In Music Studies, you can choose your own subject of interest from a wide range of disciplines, including music history, analysis, music theory in the 20th and 21st centuries, music technology, performance, and composition.In the graduate course, we provide MA and MMus mainly in the fields of composition, improvisation, electronic music, critical theory, voice, and installation work using MAX / MSP, mainly in contemporary. MA is a more theoretical course and MMus is a more practical course.In addition, you can earn an MPhil or PhD degree in composition, electronic music, sound design, 20th century musicology, and more.
