Towson University was founded in 1866 as a state normal school.Since then, it has continued to develop with Teachers College, State College, and State University, and became Towson University (State) in 1997.The city of Towson, where the university is located, is located on the outskirts of Baltimore, a metropolitan city in Maryland, eastern United States.Boasting a beautiful campus surrounded by nature, it offers a rich learning and research environment for students.Currently, there are more than 21,000 students and more than 1,500 faculty members. It has 8 colleges and offers 63 bachelor's programs, 44 master's programs and 4 doctoral programs.In the country, it is known as Maryland's premier public university.The Faculty of Music, like its mission, provides a solid College of Liberal Arts to unique students. We offer a wide variety of subjects, 278 majors and 33 minors.Since it originated from Teachers College, it is also strong in pedagogy in the music field.In addition, we have more than 80 excellent expert professors, and we have a learning support system for students as well as guidance in class.In the university course, we offer BM degree in music (composition, jazz / commercial music performance, jazz / commercial music composition, performance), music education (instrumental music, voice music), and BS degree in music + other majors.In the graduate course, you can obtain an MM degree in performance and composition, and an MS degree in music education.We also have a MUED course for those who want to become a music education specialist.Learn Orff, Kodaly and Dalcroze methods, community music, music therapy, conducting, studio education, the music industry and more.
