The Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, which was born at the end of the 18th century under French rule in Florence, which is famous for the flowering of Renaissance art, started its activities in 1811. The music school became independent in 1849, the old school was abolished by Vittorio Emanuele II in 1860, became the Florence Music Institute, and then in 2, after becoming a regional conservatory, it became the Florence Conservatory.Currently, excellent international students from Tuscany, Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa are gathering.The school, which boasts such a long history, houses collections from the Pitti, Rica Zori, Casa Morata, Bazevi family, etc. in the library, and the Medici family collection in the attached musical instrument museum.It also houses a diverse collection of stringed instruments, including Stradivari and Amati, as well as the harpsichord and piano collections of Bartolomeo Cristofori, who invented wind instruments and the current piano.
The academic course includes a university-level three-year course (level I) and a graduate-level two-year course (level II), and the curriculum is designed with the goal of developing professional musicians.For courses such as Viola da Gamba, Recorder, Orchestra Conducting, Chamber Music, Music & Technology, which are often only Level I or II majors at other Italian conservatory, the school has Level I and II. You can major in both courses.In addition, we invited internationally renowned lecturers such as Bruno Canino and Ivan Fedele to hold high-quality seminars.In addition, students are actively engaged in performance activities in four orchestras divided according to their major level and year of study.
