The Cosenza Conservatory was founded in 1970 as a result of a group of local Cosenza musicians increasing the number of energetic music students.Initially, there were only 9 instructors and 7 majors, but now we offer 700 students, 113 faculty members, 22 courses at level I (university level), and 30 courses at level II (graduate level). Developed into a large school.The church of Santa Maria della Sanita, completed in 1481, is used for the school building. Although it was damaged by the two earthquakes, it has been repaired and cherished each time.The clean white walls and simple arched windows are impressive only in the building that was originally a church, and the corridor also has the remnants of that time.In addition to general major courses (instrumental music, composition, etc.), the school also offers electronic music, jazz, music technology, and more.Master classes and seminars, for example, from March to April 2009, seminars (Latin American percussion instruments, string orchestra), master classes (timpani, composition, clarinet, ottavino, violin repertoire, chamber music), workshops, etc. In order to deepen and enrich the knowledge of the music, we invited a guest lecturer to start the course.In addition, music activities are also active, and concert activities are held jointly with other schools in various parts of Italy, mainly in Cosenza, such as baroque music concert (3) and jazz concert (4) jointly with Bari Conservatory. doing.Since it was born and raised in Cosenza, it has close ties with the local community, and a Christmas concert hosted by the Conservatory is held at the Duomo (cathedral) in Cosenza.We are actively engaged in music education and music activities today to become the center of the city of Cosenza.
