Jacksonville University was founded in 1934 as a junior college offering evening courses. In the 75 years since then, it has grown into a liberal arts college known as the top university in the southern United States.Located on the riverfront on the outskirts of Jacksonville, Florida, the campus is a calm environment where Kashiwa trees and old and new buildings harmonize. The program offers 70 bachelor's courses in over 7 majors and graduate courses in nursing / business / pedagogy / orthodontics. There are more than 45 students from 50 states in the United States and 3,400 countries around the world. The number of students per professor is 1, and the average class size is 14 students, which is a small group system.
The music program of the Faculty of Arts also adopts a small class. As an educator, mentor, and friend, our faculty of talented professional musicians and researchers will help you reach your goals in the way that works best for you.The course is a university course only, with music (practice, jazz, music theory, music history, music business, stage music / theater), liberal arts BA degree, performance (instrumental music, voice music), composition & music theory including electronic music. We offer BM degree, BFA degree in stage music and theater, Liberal Arts BS degree in music industry (management, marketing, music technology), and BME degree in music education. In this way, the abundance of degree courses and majors that meet the needs of all students, such as performers, music instructors, employment in the music industry, and going on to graduate school, is attractive.
The school emphasizes music activities and holds concert series and workshops. The ensemble includes music groups such as orchestras, choirs, brass bands, chamber music, jazz, and percussion instruments. It is also a good idea to participate in the student label "Dolphinium Records" and learn the technology while having fun.
