Boise State University was founded in 1932 by the Episcopal Church as a junior college. It became Boise State University in 1969.Since then, it has been attracting attention as a fast-growing research university in Idaho.Currently, more than 19,000 students are enrolled.We offer approximately 200 degree programs from bachelor's to master's and doctoral degrees in a wide range of fields.Its quality has been named one of the Best Colleges by the 2009 US News & World Report magazine.The Faculty of Music was established by the Idaho Board of Education as a music education institution with an emphasis on practical skills and performances.With a rich and outstanding tradition, it is known as one of the best programs in the Northwestern United States.With more than 40 excellent faculty members, not only they but also the students of the Faculty of Music have many winners of national, regional, national and international competitions.This is the result of the school's music training.
In the university course, we offer BA degree in music + business, music + other liberal arts subjects, BM degree in music theory / composition, music education.In the graduate course, you can obtain an MM degree in performance (instrumental music, composition), music education, and performance teaching methods.
The ensemble belongs to 18 music groups such as orchestra, brass band, marching band, choir, jazz, and instrumental ensemble.The on-campus art facility Verma Morrison Center, which also uses the Boise Opera and the Boise Philharmonic, is a masterpiece.At this professional facility, it will be attractive to enjoy music activities in earnest from among students.In addition, the city of Boise will host big events such as the Chamber Music Series, the Jazz Society and the Gene Harris Jazz Festival, so you can experience the world's top music.
