■ General school information ■
The Mantua Conservatory was founded in 1777.It is a historic conservatory that dates back to the 16th century and was founded by Empress Maria Theresia. The location is located in Mantova, Lombardy, northern Italy. It's a small town full of Italian charm, unlike a big city, so it's a great place to study calmly.Mantua is also famous as the setting for Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Rigoletto".The school values the traditions it has cultivated over the years, but it also emphasizes new genres and systems as well. From January 2011, the conventional education system will be changed to a credit system. The qualifications that can be obtained are still diplomas, but we have started a new level I and level II courses that are equivalent to bachelor's and master's degrees. This curriculum is semester / credit system.By combining the mainstream with music institutes and music universities around the world, various possibilities such as international exchange such as exchange study abroad and affiliated programs, research, master class, etc. are expanded, and students' motivation for learning is increasing.
The system is not the only one that has been newly established. The content of the program has been further enhanced. We offer a wide variety of classes, from hearing training to music analysis, harmony, music theory, music history, and computer music.Since you can learn in addition to the main majors such as performance (instrumental music, vocal music, jazz), composition, and chamber music, you can deepen your understanding of music comprehensively. The professors are full of creative musicians, such as Paolo Guidoni, Gabriele Monich, Mauro Negri, who know what they were teaching here, so I was blessed with the opportunity to improve my expertise. It can be said that it is a conservatory.
