Eastern Illinois University was founded in 1895 as Eastern Illinois State Normal School.Since then, it has continued to grow and transform, becoming Eastern Illinois University from 1957.The campus has 7 colleges and schools, offering 47 bachelor's and 27 graduate programs and 6 graduate certificate programs. The US News & World Report ranks it as one of the top universities in the Midwestern United States, and the Princeton Review ranks it as one of the top universities in the region.Currently, there are about 12,000 students from all over the world.We have a class size of 1 students on average, with 16 students per professor, and we provide detailed education.The Faculty of Music boasts an innovative program and specialized training cultivated in tradition, excellent faculty and extensive facilities.In small classes, the professors pay close attention to each student and carefully guide the students.Therefore, the employment rate is high at the school, and graduates are respected as leaders and are active in their respective fields.
In the university course, we offer BM degree acquisition courses in performance (instrumental music, vocal music), composition, and jazz research.Also, as an option, it is attractive to be able to obtain an additional certificate of completion of music education (instrumental music, vocal music, music in general).In the graduate course, we offer MA degree acquisition courses in performance (instrumental music, vocal music), composition, and conducting.The flexible curriculum that allows you to choose classes according to your interests is popular.
The music group includes orchestras, marching bands, basketball bands, choirs, jazz combos, and instrumental ensembles.Participating in events such as camps, festivals and parades, as well as concerts, will give you the campus life you expect.
