Kansas State University was founded in 1858 as Bluemont Central College.Five years later, it became the first publicly owned college in the United States.Currently, there are more than 5 students from 50 states in the United States and more than 90 countries around the world.We offer 23,000 undergraduate courses, 250 graduate courses, and 110 graduate-level certificate courses in a wide range of fields, from science and art to agriculture, architecture, technology, and medicine.
The Faculty of Music has made remarkable progress in its 20-year history of music education programs, including major and minor.And we're looking beyond the Kansas campus to the world to better understand trends in modern international society.Students and faculty perform in 22 countries, including North America, Latin America, Oceania, Europe and Asia.Boosted by this exciting spirit of the school, you will realize that you are a member of the global community and that the art is wonderful.
In the university course, we offer BA degree of liberal arts, performance (instrumental music, voice music), music theory / composition, BM degree in theater music, and BME degree in music education in music + other liberal arts subjects. BME is a teacher training in a public school, but BM is attractive because you can get a certificate of a private music instructor.In the graduate course, you can earn an MM degree in performance (instrumental music, voice music), performance education, music theory / composition, conducting (chorus, band), music education, music history / music literature.
The ensemble includes orchestras, choirs, bands, percussion studios, jazz, etc.Every month, the more the event calendar is filled, the more opportunities we have to play.The vocal department is also lively with a wide range of energetic activities such as opera workshops, Broadway musicals, and conferences with guest musicians.
