Fort Hays State University was founded in 1902.Known as a leading entrepreneurship development university in the Midwestern United States.Currently, there are about 11,000 students enrolled, including online students.About 3,700 of them are international students from 30 countries around the world.There are more than 28 programs in 100 faculties, from associate degrees to bachelor's, master's, and certificate courses.Careful guidance, friendly classes, and a good support system are attractive.You can say that the best learning opportunities you have expected are waiting for you.The Faculty of Music has been integrated with the Theater Division since July 2010 to become a dynamic faculty with a more global perspective.For example, in the theater section, we have prepared excellent courses that allow you to comprehensively study the world stage.The Music Department offers the innovative education you need for your future career.We welcome and accept all students who want to study professionally, such as playing, composing, education, and technology, as well as those who like music and want to play an ensemble, or want to study other disciplines.We are proud of our flexible programs that meet the needs of these various students.
In the university course, we offer BA degree in music + other subjects, music technology, BM degree in performance (instrumental music, vocal music), music theory / composition, music education (instrumental music, vocal music, elementary school / general).In the graduate course, you can obtain an MLS degree that allows you to study flexibly according to your interests such as language, history, and management, without being bound by tradition, while majoring in music.
The ensemble includes a wide variety of music groups such as orchestra, brass band, chamber music, choir, opera / musical theater, marching band, color guard, jazz, and instrumental ensemble.The feature is that you can gain a wealth of playing experience that is incomparable to that of a large-scale music education institution.
