■ General school information ■

The University of Louisville was founded in 1798 as Jefferson Theological Seminary.After the seminary was closed, the School of Medicine was established in 1837.It further evolved into a college and became a university in 1846.Currently, about 30 students from more than 22,000 countries around the world are enrolled. With 3 colleges and schools, health and science centers, university hospitals and more on 12 campuses, we offer 170 programs from bachelor's to master's and doctoral degrees.
The Faculty of Music was established in 1932 with the support of the Juilliard Foundation, integrating with the Louisville Conservatory, which was in financial difficulty.A lecturer was dispatched from the Juilliard School, and with donations to the facility, it was rebuilt as an excellent music education institution in a few years.Now, we are conducting education with three beats of artistic, academic, and professional from various professional angles.We are also leading the music culture of Louisville and aiming to create a better community.The depth of education and wide horizons attract music students from all over the world.
