Louisiana State University was founded in 1860.Since then, it has continued to grow and develop, providing one of the highest levels of education and research in the United States.In particular, it has established its position as a comprehensive university that has received all three designations: Land Grant, Sea Grant, and Space Grant, which have only 21 schools in the United States.We offer 3 bachelor's, 72 master's and 76 doctoral programs in a wide range of fields including agriculture, arts, business, marine, education, engineering, science, media and veterinary medicine.Currently, we have more than 54 students and more than 50 faculty members from 100 states and 28,700 countries around the world. The Faculty of Music is a historic music education institution licensed by the National Association of Music Faculty in 1931.Currently, there are 300 students in the university course and 150 students in the graduate course.It's probably because of America's most comprehensive music program and a variety of fascinating majors that attract so many students.In the university course, we offer BA degree in music + other liberal arts subjects, BM degree in performance (instrumental music, vocal music), piano education, composition, and BME degree in music education (instrumental music, vocal music).In the graduate course, you can earn an MM degree in performance, conducting (chorus, orchestra, wind music), collaborative piano, piano education, composition, music theory, musicology, music education, and jazz studies.In addition, you can earn a DMA degree in performance and conducting, composition, experimental music & digital media, music theory, and PhD degree in music history. Ensembles include orchestras, choruses, operas, bands, brass bands, quintets, jazz, and instrumental ensembles.Students join these music groups and have a fulfilling life.
