Sawallisch Music Academy Master Class

City: Grassau

A small master class in the former home of a great German conductor

Hone your musical sensibilities in a tranquil and sophisticated masterclass held in the former residence of renowned conductor Wolfgang Sawallisch, set in a majestic hilly area.
April 2025th, 7- October 14st
On the outskirts of Munich, near Salzburg in Austria, in a tranquil hilly area, lies the former residence of the famous conductor Wolfgang Sawallisch. The Sawallisch Music Academy Master Classes, named after him, are held in this spacious 4-hectare estate with magnificent views and in the elegant and refined mansion. Sawallisch, who passed away in 2013, was the former music director of the Bavarian State Opera and enjoyed international fame as a conductor and artist. The purpose of the foundation he established was to "promote music culture at both the top and the grassroots level." The Academy, which is held in accordance with his will, who placed great importance on music education, invites famous performers and music professors one by one to hold classes for several days each. The master classes are held in a relay format throughout the year, so be sure to check the dates when classes for your instrument are held and the information on the instructors in charge. There are academies for string instruments, wind instruments, vocal instruments, piano, and orchestra. Although the content varies depending on the instructor, all classes are small and provide an ideal learning environment for musicians of all genres and ages. In addition to studying music, you will be surrounded by a majestic view, a mansion with sophisticated furniture, and a quiet, idyllic atmosphere. These experiences will hone your artistic sensibilities and allow you to rediscover the joy of enjoying music from the depths of your heart. Spending time to deeply engage with your own music in a place beloved by a great conductor of the past is sure to have a major impact on your career.
