Summer course
Training session
Bowdoin International Summer Workshop
Country:
The United States of America
City:
Brunswick
A dense 3-6 week course where the winners of the international competition also hone their skills here.
Powerful instructors, including professors at the Juilliard School and Eastman School of Music, members of prominent American orchestras and soloists, will teach piano, strings, percussion and composition.
twenty-second to thirtieth of July 2025

This six-week summer course is held in Brunswick, Maine, USA, and has been attended by famous people such as pianist Emanuel Ax and viola Paul Neubauer, who have honed their skills. This is a highly rated course. We have also produced many prize winners in famous competitions such as the International Tchaikovsky Competition, the Queen Elisabeth Competition, and the International Chrysler Competition. This intensive course is aimed at high school students, music college students, and music college graduates, and the entire course is 6 weeks long. However, for those who are short on time, it is possible to participate in the first half or the second half of the course for three weeks (other than composing). The instructors are usually professors from prestigious schools such as The Juilliard School, Eastman School of Music, Peabody School of Music, and Manhattan School of Music, as well as leading musicians active in major orchestras.Lessons are a combination of group and private lessons, depending on the level and goals of the students.Another feature of this course is that there is always a chamber music lesson (except for the composition course).Concerts open to the public by our students are held frequently, and not only do all students have the opportunity to perform, but particularly talented students may also have the chance to participate in an orchestra composed of instructors and guest musicians. That's a good thing.During the course, students are free to use the university library, which has a huge collection of sheet music and CDs, and the extensive sports facilities, as well as mini-tours of state parks, beaches, movies, shopping, etc.
