Czech National Janacek Music Academy Summer Course
Country:
Czech Republic
City:
Brno
Solo and chamber music learned from a professor at the Janacek Academy of Music, a prestigious Czech music powerhouse.
This year, why not take part in a master class in the big city of Brno, taught by some of the Czech Republic's top sensei, who are active in concerts, on TV and on CDs?
twenty-second to thirtieth of July 2025

This seminar is held annually by the Janacek Academy of Music (a school equivalent to a music university or graduate school) in Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic after Prague. The instructor is Sensei, one of the highest ranking musicians in the Czech Republic, who teaches at the Janacek Academy of Music. Many of the professors are active musicians, including soloists with the Czech National Brno Philharmonic Orchestra and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, and are musicians who have plenty of experience on the international stage. The subjects of the seminar are piano, violin, double bass, flute, piccolo, clarinet, and vocal music. Eligible students are high school and music college students or equivalent, music college graduates, active musicians, and people working as music teachers, with no age limit. During the course of about one week, you can take about four private lessons in the form of a master class. In addition to private lessons, there are also plans to hold chamber music and improvisation lessons, lectures and workshops on preparing for stage performances, etc. The course will be held at the Janacek Academy of Music, so you will have an excellent environment to learn music, including practice rooms. You will also have access to the academy's library. There will also be many concerts by students, so you will have plenty of opportunities to gain experience in live performances. Accommodation will be in a student dormitory. Enjoy visiting the Janacek Museum, which has many attractions, sightseeing in Brno city, and a visit to the nearby old castle.
