from March 2024th to May 7st
This summer seminar has been held since 2000 at an old castle in Gradignan, a town in the Bordeaux region of France. The subjects offered this year are violin, viola, cello, contrabass, clarinet, flute, piano, and chamber music. So far, more than 200 world-famous musicians and educators have held private lessons, lectures, and workshops here, and more than 1000 students from all over the world have learned.Celebrities such as cello virtuoso Mstilav Rostropovich, top-notch violinist Maxim Vengerov, and French jazz violin virtuoso Didier Lockwood have taught many students in the past. .The main part of the course is a master class (private lesson in the form of an open lecture) by professors from top schools, including famous French conservatories. There are also plenty of other opportunities to participate in various chamber music workshops. The venue, the old castle of Gradignan, is well-maintained as a modern leisure facility, with a gym, tennis courts, sauna, pool, etc. (Some items may not be available). And when you think of Bordeaux in France, you think of wine.Graves, which is close to the training venue, is a famous wine producing area in Bordeaux.A music festival is held in the city of Graves at the same time, so you can enjoy both top-notch music and wine at the same time. Also, if you go about 50km to the west, you will find Arcachon, a popular beach in France, and the dune dune de Pilat, the largest in Europe.
