Piano / Piano Improvisation / Music Analysis Public Lesson for Study Abroad and Competition by Professor Karst de Jong of Royal Conservatory in Hague, Spain & Royal Conservatory in Catalonia, Spain / Opened in Tokyo on September 2019, 9 (Friday)

How to read the composer's feelings from the score --- sensei who specializes in teaching it and is welcomed as a professor at two prestigious schools.
Karst de Jong, who studied piano and music theory at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague in the Netherlands, and even personally learned jazz piano, was invited as a professor from two schools, his alma mater and the Amsterdam National Conservatory, shortly after graduation. I was struck. His ability as a musician is ridiculous because he suddenly became a professor at both of the Dutch schools.Currently, while continuing to play jazz and classical music, he is a professor at the prestigious Catalan Conservatory of Music and the Royal Conservatory of the Hague in Spain.I will teach you how to read the composer's heart in the notes. That is his specialty. The classification of the lessons is, for the time being, piano, music theory, or improvisation, but his ultimate goal is always to reflect the composer's intentions in the performance, that is, to express it as sound. If you are confident in your playing technique but not confident in the interpretation of the song, or if you don't know how to play without being taught by sensei, Professor De Young should be a reliable ally. ..You will be able to approach the core of the song on your own, add nuances to the sound, and discover ideas for playing. And once you can do that, you're at your disposal with the orthodox classical improvisations that Mozart, Liszt, and modern Romantic pianists would normally do.

If you haven't taken lessons yet, you can listen to them. There is so much you can learn by not only playing for yourself, but also watching other people's lessons. In fact, many students in Europe study through listening. It is also an opportunity to listen to the performances of many other people, and through the lessons of various people, you will be able to better understand how to teach sensei.People other than piano, composition, and music analysis can also enjoy the atmosphere of overseas classes, so please feel free to join us.Due to the convenience of the lesson room, the number of people is limited. It will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so don't hesitate to apply as soon as possible. Now is the time to seize the opportunity! The teaching method of overseas professors is completely different from that of Japan. In particular, the main focus is to "enjoy and express music more", so the points to teach vary from student to student.Isn't it a big point for those who are aiming to study abroad or become a professional in the future to feel how the points of teaching are different from those in Japan?Even if you are not satisfied with Japan, it will be an opportunity to think about studying abroad.

It's a great chance to meet sensei overseas while you are in Japan!
Just thinking does not open the door to your dreams. There is only action. Don't miss this opportunity!

■ Lesson students ( U)
He taught me the most important things, such as the structure of the song and the movement of the harmony, which I don't usually touch in the lessons.
I think it's easy to get sloppy while thinking that you have to understand the harmony structure of the song.In particular, songs after the Romantics are difficult to understand because the harmony becomes complicated. However, this lesson was a great learning experience because I think that a proper understanding of the song will lead to a more persuasive performance. He taught me how to make one sound and how to express it after analytically understanding why the sound is written there even when playing a phrase, so I am convinced myself. I was able to play.Without forgetting what I learned this time, I would like to deepen my understanding of the song and study it.

■ Lesson auditor ( ST)
It was a lesson that helped me to have "my own interpretation" and enjoyed music with free ideas, instead of playing Ippen.
When the students weren't able to answer the sensei questions well, I was very inspired by the friendly atmosphere of asking the audience for their opinions and the "open lessons".
