Susanne Kelling, a world-renowned mezzo-soprano from Germany, was musically talented and studied cello at the prestigious Cologne University of Music, but her passion for singing led her to study under American soprano Professor Cressie Kelly. To learn more about singing, she went to Italy, the home of opera, to study under Sesto Bruscantini and graduated with honors from the Santa Cecilia National Academy of Music. She made her debut as Dorabella in "Cosi fan tutte" and Rosina in "The Barber of Seville". She caught the eye of the Bavarian State Opera and was appointed as a mezzo-soprano in the young ensemble. Since then, she has steadily climbed the ladder as a professional singer, appearing in various roles at Italy's most important opera houses, including the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, and the Teatro Regio in Turin, as well as at the State Theater at Gärtnerplatz in Munich, Cologne, Dusseldorf, and Tokyo. One of the highlights of his career as a singer was performing Haydn's Seven Last Words arranged for string quartet and mezzo-soprano with the Henschel Quartet at the Vatican to celebrate the feast day of Pope Benedict XVI. The concert was broadcast live on Eurovision and released as a world premiere CD. He was also awarded the Star of Italian Solidarity by the Italian government for his many years of contributions. In 16, he became a professor at the Nuremberg University of Music and was elected vice-rector from 7 to 2014. He is currently a professor at the same school, where he teaches singing as a popular professor.
