The ancient city of Fribourg is a picturesque medieval townscape in the great outdoors.The official language is French, but German and English are also spoken in the town.In 1904, the music school that was the predecessor of the Fribourg Conservatory was founded.Born by violinist Edouard Favre and Belgian musician Charles Del Goufle. It merged with a private music school in 1912-13 to become the Fribourg Conservatory and was recognized as the Fribourg Conservatory in 1978-79. A new school building was built in 2006-07. You can now study music in a comfortable environment, including 23 practice studios, 2 music halls, an audiovisual hall, a library, and a cafeteria.Currently, we accept and teach a wide range of students, from 3-4 year olds to professional students.
There are four courses: an introductory course for children to experience music for the first time, a maximum of 3 years for each of the first and second courses to learn the basics, and a final course of up to 4 years.In the final course, you can either obtain a certificate of completion, which is the highest level of amateur musicians, or a certificate of completion of music to advance to the Academy of Music to become a professional musician.Practical performance majors include vocal music, wind instruments, stringed instruments, keyboard instruments, percussion instruments, chorus conductors, and brass band conductors.Jazz is vocals, piano, wind instruments, wood bass, guitar, bass, keyboards and drums.Music analysis, first-time performance, music history, listening, music theory, chorus command, introductory music (children), jazz theory (viewing, comparison, application, improvisation) will be group lectures.
Ensembles where you can gain practical experience include orchestras, choruses, and big bands.In addition, jazz atelier activities include practical learning such as improvisation training, composition, and arrangement, carefully and step by step from the basics of the ensemble.
Founded in 1966, the school's orchestra is made up of students and plays a wide variety of songs, including symphonies, concertos, operas and film scores.Performances such as Christmas concerts are popular with local people.
